# Move from Zendesk to Opskeet

Free on every plan. Zendesk doesn't allow other apps to use your keys on their servers, so you run `npx opskeet import zendesk` on your computer (it asks for the keys below), or ask your AI agent: **Settings → Import & export → Zendesk → Ask your AI agent** gives you the prompt.

## Keys

1. In Zendesk Admin Center, open “Apps and integrations” → “APIs” → “OAuth clients” and click “Add OAuth client”.
2. Set “Name” to Opskeet and “Client kind” to “Confidential”. Add https://opskeet.com under “Redirect URLs”. Leave “Scopes” empty. Click “Save”.
3. Copy the “Identifier” and the “Secret”: Zendesk shows the full secret once. Do this as an admin, since it reads as the person who made it.
4. Already have an API token? Enter your admin email and the token instead. Zendesk turns API tokens off on April 30, 2027.

You'll paste: “Subdomain”, “Identifier or admin email”, “Secret or API token”.

## What moves

Agents, organizations, users and their tags, every ticket with public replies, internal notes and files, satisfaction ratings, ticket status and type, active macros, categories, sections and articles.

**Doesn't move:** Triggers, automations, SLAs, views, side conversations and problem/incident links. Zendesk messaging widget calls aren't converted, so swap the widget snippet and its calls.

## Good to know

- Zendesk no longer lets you make new API tokens (since Oct 27, 2026) and stops existing ones on Apr 30, 2027. An OAuth client from Admin Center works on Suite Team or higher.
- Use an admin's client: it reads as the person who made it, and only admins can read every ticket.
- Old links like `/hc/en-us/articles/123-title` lead to the same article in any language, once your help center's domain points here. `*.zendesk.com` links can't be redirected.

## After it's in

1. Look over a few conversations, then click **Import the rest** if you started with a sample.
2. Forward your support email to your Opskeet address (Settings → Email). In Gmail, choose "Forward a copy" and save; in Microsoft 365, allow automatic forwarding. A redirect rule keeps replies threaded best.
3. Swap the chat snippet (Settings → Import & export → Switch the chat).
4. Publish the imported articles, and point your old help center's domain here.
5. Click **I've switched** once nobody uses the old tool. New activity there keeps coming in until then, as open conversations.

Nothing imported is sent to anyone, and Undo removes what an import brought in. Full guide: [Switch to Opskeet](https://opskeet.com/docs/switch.md).
