# Move from Intercom to Opskeet

Free on every plan. Start in **Settings → Import & export → Intercom**: do it yourself with the keys below, or pick **Ask your AI agent** for a ready prompt that walks you through it.

## Keys

1. In Intercom, open Settings → “Integrations” → “Developer Hub” and click “New app”.
2. Enter an “App name”, pick your “Workspace” and click “Create app”.
3. Open “Authentication” and copy the “Access token”. If a read permission is missing, click “Edit” to add it (this makes a new token).

You'll paste: “Access token”.

## What moves

Teammates, companies, people and their tags, every conversation with its notes and files (all parts, past Intercom's 500 limit), ratings, macros with their placeholders, collections and articles.

**Doesn't move:** Workflows, Fin and bot setup, series, tours, news, reports and custom ticket fields.

## Good to know

- Leads and users both come in as people. Unsubscribed people stay unsubscribed.
- Old article links like `/en/articles/123-title` lead to the same article once your help center's own domain points here. Links on `intercom.help` can't be redirected.
- Your site's `Intercom('boot')`, `update`, `show`, `trackEvent` and `onUnreadCountChange` calls keep working after the switch. Signatures made with `user_hash` or `intercom_user_jwt` stay valid with Intercom's identity secret saved.
- Intercom asks that access tokens aren't given to other apps. Prefer the terminal (`npx opskeet import intercom`) if that matters to you: the token stays on your computer.

## Switch the chat

Replace Intercom's snippet with Opskeet's. Your site's existing calls keep working; move them to [Opskeet's API](https://opskeet.com/docs/install.md) when convenient.

## After it's in

1. Look over a few conversations, then click **Import the rest** if you started with a sample.
2. Forward your support email to your Opskeet address (Settings → Email). In Gmail, choose "Forward a copy" and save; in Microsoft 365, allow automatic forwarding. A redirect rule keeps replies threaded best.
3. Swap the chat snippet (Settings → Import & export → Switch the chat).
4. Publish the imported articles, and point your old help center's domain here.
5. Click **I've switched** once nobody uses the old tool. New activity there keeps coming in until then, as open conversations.

Nothing imported is sent to anyone, and Undo removes what an import brought in. Full guide: [Switch to Opskeet](https://opskeet.com/docs/switch.md).
