# Move from Help Scout to Opskeet

Free on every plan. Start in **Settings → Import & export → Help Scout**: do it yourself with the keys below, or pick **Ask your AI agent** for a ready prompt that walks you through it.

## Keys

1. Sign in to Help Scout as the account owner or an admin. Click your avatar → “Your Profile” → “My Apps” → “Create My App”.
2. Set “App Name” to Opskeet and “Redirection URL” to https://opskeet.com (it isn’t used). Click “Create”, then copy the “App ID” and “App Secret”.
3. For Docs articles, also copy your key from “Your Profile” → “Security and Access” → “Docs API”.

You'll paste: “App ID”, “App Secret”, “Docs API key” (optional).

## What moves

Users, customers, every conversation with replies, notes, chats and files, tags, saved replies, and Docs collections, categories and articles (with a Docs key).

**Doesn't move:** Workflows, Beacon settings, reports and custom fields' definitions.

## Good to know

- Sign in as the account owner or an admin to make the app, so every inbox can be read.
- Your site's `Beacon('identify')`, `open`, `close` and `logout` calls keep working. Secure mode signatures stay valid with Beacon's secret saved.

## Switch the chat

Replace Help Scout's snippet with Opskeet's. Your site's existing calls keep working; move them to [Opskeet's API](https://opskeet.com/docs/install.md) when convenient.

## After it's in

1. Look over a few conversations, then click **Import the rest** if you started with a sample.
2. Forward your support email to your Opskeet address (Settings → Email). In Gmail, choose "Forward a copy" and save; in Microsoft 365, allow automatic forwarding. A redirect rule keeps replies threaded best.
3. Swap the chat snippet (Settings → Import & export → Switch the chat).
4. Publish the imported articles, and point your old help center's domain here.
5. Click **I've switched** once nobody uses the old tool. New activity there keeps coming in until then, as open conversations.

Nothing imported is sent to anyone, and Undo removes what an import brought in. Full guide: [Switch to Opskeet](https://opskeet.com/docs/switch.md).
