# Move from Front to Opskeet

Free on every plan. Start in **Settings → Import & export → Front**: do it yourself with the keys below, or pick **Ask your AI agent** for a ready prompt that walks you through it.

## Keys

1. In Front, open Settings → “Developers” → “API Tokens” and click “Create API token”. Only company admins can.
2. Enter an “API token name”. Under Features pick “Access resources”. Under Namespaces pick “Global resources” and “Shared resources” → “All shared workspaces”. Under Permissions turn on “Read”. Add “Private resources” for personal inboxes too.
3. Click “Create” and copy the token now: Front shows it once.

You'll paste: “API token”.

## What moves

Teammates, accounts, contacts, every conversation with messages, comments as notes, and files, tags, and message templates.

**Doesn't move:** Rules, SLAs, signatures and the knowledge base (Front can't share it through its API: export it from Front and use the help center import).

## Good to know

- Only company admins can make the token. Give it Read on Global resources and All shared workspaces, plus Private resources for personal inboxes.
- Front's Starter plan allows 50 requests a minute, so big accounts take longer.
- Your site's `FrontChat('init')`, `identity`, `show` and `onUnreadChange` calls keep working.

## Switch the chat

Replace Front's snippet with Opskeet's. Your site's existing calls keep working; move them to [Opskeet's API](https://opskeet.com/docs/install.md) when convenient.

## After it's in

1. Look over a few conversations, then click **Import the rest** if you started with a sample.
2. Forward your support email to your Opskeet address (Settings → Email). In Gmail, choose "Forward a copy" and save; in Microsoft 365, allow automatic forwarding. A redirect rule keeps replies threaded best.
3. Swap the chat snippet (Settings → Import & export → Switch the chat).
4. Publish the imported articles, and point your old help center's domain here.
5. Click **I've switched** once nobody uses the old tool. New activity there keeps coming in until then, as open conversations.

Nothing imported is sent to anyone, and Undo removes what an import brought in. Full guide: [Switch to Opskeet](https://opskeet.com/docs/switch.md).
