# Move from Freshdesk to Opskeet

Free on every plan. Start in **Settings → Import & export → Freshdesk**: do it yourself with the keys below, or pick **Ask your AI agent** for a ready prompt that walks you through it.

## Keys

1. In Freshdesk, click your profile picture → “Profile Settings” → “View API key”, finish the captcha, then copy the key. It isn’t on the Free plan.
2. Use an admin’s key, so every ticket can be read.

You'll paste: “Freshdesk address”, “API key”.

## What moves

Agents, companies, contacts, every ticket with its description, replies, notes and files, ticket status and type, canned responses, and solution categories, folders and articles.

**Doesn't move:** Automations, SLAs, scenarios and forums.

## Good to know

- Use the `yourcompany.freshdesk.com` address, not a custom portal domain.
- Freshdesk's own list stops at 300 pages; we read past it, so large accounts come in whole.
- Rate limits depend on your Freshdesk plan, so big accounts take longer.

## After it's in

1. Look over a few conversations, then click **Import the rest** if you started with a sample.
2. Forward your support email to your Opskeet address (Settings → Email). In Gmail, choose "Forward a copy" and save; in Microsoft 365, allow automatic forwarding. A redirect rule keeps replies threaded best.
3. Swap the chat snippet (Settings → Import & export → Switch the chat).
4. Publish the imported articles, and point your old help center's domain here.
5. Click **I've switched** once nobody uses the old tool. New activity there keeps coming in until then, as open conversations.

Nothing imported is sent to anyone, and Undo removes what an import brought in. Full guide: [Switch to Opskeet](https://opskeet.com/docs/switch.md).
