# Switch to Opskeet

Move people, conversations, files, canned replies and help articles from the tool you use now. Free on every plan. Nothing imported is sent to anyone: no emails, no AI replies, no rules. Every import can be undone.

Start in the app: **Settings → Import & export**, or **Bring your data from your old tool** in Getting started.

## Two ways in

1. **Do it yourself:** pick your tool, paste its keys, match its teammates to yours, and look over a sample of 20 conversations. We read the rest in the background and email you when it's done. Zendesk doesn't allow its keys on other servers, so for Zendesk you run `npx opskeet import zendesk` on your computer.
2. **Ask your AI agent:** the app gives you one prompt to paste into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any agent. It connects to Opskeet, asks you for the keys with the steps to find them, and shows you a sample first. Details: [AI agents](https://opskeet.com/docs/agents.md#moving-from-another-tool).

Rather not do it yourself? Chat with us on [opskeet.com](https://opskeet.com) or email hello@opskeet.com, and we'll move you for free.

The command line works too: `npx opskeet import <tool>`. Your keys stay on your computer.

Running an import again skips what's already here and adds what's new, so you can keep syncing until the day you switch.

## What moves

| | Moves |
|---|---|
| People and companies | Names, emails, phones, user IDs, custom fields, tags. People already here are matched by their confirmed email or user ID. |
| Conversations | Every message and internal note with its original time and author, files up to 100 MB, tags, assignee, status, ratings, ticket status and type, email threading. |
| Teammates | Matched to your team by email, or kept as names on what they wrote. Invite them anytime. |
| Canned replies | Saved replies, macros, shortcuts and templates. |
| Help center | Collections, articles and their images, as drafts. Publish them together after a look. |

**Doesn't move:** automations, workflows, SLA rules, bot setup, reports and integrations. Old open chats from the last 7 days stay open; older ones come in closed. Imported chats are never answered by the AI or closed automatically until someone writes in them.

## Guides for each tool

Keys, what moves, and what to watch for:

- [Intercom](https://opskeet.com/docs/switch/intercom.md)
- [Zendesk](https://opskeet.com/docs/switch/zendesk.md): from your terminal or AI agent, as Zendesk requires
- [Help Scout](https://opskeet.com/docs/switch/helpscout.md)
- [Crisp](https://opskeet.com/docs/switch/crisp.md)
- [Front](https://opskeet.com/docs/switch/front.md)
- [Chatwoot](https://opskeet.com/docs/switch/chatwoot.md)
- [Freshdesk](https://opskeet.com/docs/switch/freshdesk.md)
- Any other help center: paste its address. We read its public articles.
- Anything else: a spreadsheet (people, companies or canned replies), or your AI agent.

Keys pasted in the app are encrypted and deleted when the import ends, or when you say you've switched.

## How an import runs

- **Try first:** 20 conversations come in for you to look at, then **Import the rest**.
- **Recent first:** the last two weeks arrive in minutes, then everything else.
- **How far back:** everything, or the last 2 years, year or 90 days.
- **Until you switch:** new activity in the old tool keeps coming in every hour, for up to 30 days. A customer writing there shows up here as an open, unread conversation. If a teammate still answers there, you're told, so nobody gets two replies.
- **Safe:** nothing imported is sent to anyone, imported chats are never answered by the AI or closed automatically, and people who unsubscribed stay unsubscribed.

## Switch the chat widget

Replace the old chat's snippet with Opskeet's. Nothing else to set:

```html
<script
  type="module"
  src="https://opskeet.com/app/widget/loader.js?id=PROJECT_ID"
></script>
```

Your site's calls to the old chat keep working, unless the old chat is still on the page: `Intercom('boot')`, `Intercom('show')`, `$crisp.push(...)`, `Tawk_API`, `$chatwoot.setUser`, `Beacon('identify')`, `FrontChat('init')` and `Gleap.identify` drive Opskeet instead.

To keep signed-in users verified, paste the old tool's identity secret in **Settings → Import & export → Switch the chat**. Signatures your server already makes are checked with it, so signed-in users see their imported history. Move to [Opskeet's own signing](https://opskeet.com/docs/install.md) when convenient, then remove the old secret.

## Keep old help center links

Imported articles remember their old addresses. Point your old help center's domain at Opskeet (Settings → Help site → Your own domain) and old article links lead to the same articles here. Addresses on the old tool's own domain (like `intercom.help/acme`) can't be redirected.

## Move your support email

Forward your support address to your project's Opskeet address (Settings → Email) instead of the old tool's. Replies to old email threads still thread, since imported emails keep their message IDs.

## Leave anytime

**Settings → Import & export → Export** gives you everything as one zip: records in the format Opskeet imports (NDJSON), spreadsheets (CSV) and every file. `npx opskeet export` downloads it from your terminal, and `npx opskeet import export.zip` brings it into another project.
